Dr. Kristi Michels brings a rare combination of surgical precision and genuine warmth to pediatric eye care. After earning her Chief Resident distinction during her ophthalmology residency at Northwestern, she pursued fellowship training at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago — one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals — where she developed advanced expertise in strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, blocked tear ducts, and eyelid conditions.
A member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Michels is deeply committed to the families she serves throughout Southeast Michigan. She understands that treating young patients means connecting with children and parents alike — offering clear answers, a calm presence, and care that puts every child at ease.

Morgan Pillard is a Certified Orthoptist whose career has been shaped by a deep commitment to pediatric eye care. She completed her Orthoptic Training Program at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center — one of the country’s most respected ophthalmology institutions — and most recently served at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where she managed pediatric patients with strabismus, eye movement disorders, and amblyopia, including urgent inpatient and emergency cases.
A member of the American Association of Certified Orthoptists, Morgan has gone beyond the clinic to champion patient education, volunteering her time to develop resources — including educational materials, coloring pages, and patching calendars — to help families navigate lazy eye treatment at home. She has also participated in international eye care mission work and volunteers with Lions Club and Be My Eyes. At Fraser Eye Care, Morgan brings both clinical skill and a genuine passion for making pediatric eye care approachable for every child and family she serves.
